The research center is officially supervised by the Scientific Research Deanship. The center has the following objectives:

• Encouraging and developing the scientific research in the college through supporting the applied engineering research projects.
• Establishment of cooperation links with the community to provide research and consultancy services which contribute in finding solutions for the problems of the local and national industries and serve the sustainable development in the Kingdom.
• Adaptation and application of the imported technology in the Saudi society.
• Satisfying the needs of governmental and private sectors for research and development.
• Developing the home experts and expanding the knowledge base in the Kingdom.
• Participating in offering a high quality education for the students.
• Supporting the undergraduate and graduate studies programs.
